Dungeon Automata demo: conquer dungeons by programming golem behavior
A free demo for Dungeon Automata launched on Steam on September 10, 2026.[14] On the same day, Raw Fury and Kakehashi Games announced a co-publishing partnership with Medium-Rare Games.[7] This article is published in Korea on September 12. The news concerns a demo and publishing announcement, not the launch of the full game.[7][14]

Build behavior rules instead of issuing commands
Dungeon Automata is presented as a blend of JRPG dungeon crawling, automatic battles, and visual programming.[14] Players define the behavior of a golem party through node-based blueprints, then refine those rules by analyzing enemies and how party members support one another.[7][14] The publishers describe this combination as an 'autologic.'[7]
The central constraint is that once the golems enter the dungeon, players can only watch them explore.[7] Players prepare blueprints for situations ranging from traps to bosses, observe failures, and try again.[7] 'Automatic' does not have to mean removing the player's judgment. What interests GamZip is the shift from issuing commands during combat to designing rules beforehand.
What the free demo includes
The official Steam demo description lists the first two floors, a range of enemies, hidden treasures, traps and bosses, more than 30 nodes for configuring the party, and catalysts for customizing golems.[14] It is presented as a playable opportunity to see whether this design approach suits you, rather than merely a preview to watch.
Progression is not just about stats. According to the official descriptions, catalysts improve golems' physical abilities, nodes enable new actions or targeting logic, and collected parts let players assemble distinctive golems.[7][14] When considering rewards, it may therefore be useful to ask not only 'How much stronger does this make the party?' but also 'What new situation can it handle?'
Pixel art, music, and what remains to be confirmed
The publishers highlight handcrafted 8-bit pixel art and a soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro.[7] The accompanying key art places red connecting lines and node shapes over monochrome fantasy characters. To us, it is a cover that foregrounds connecting rules as much as fighting.
GamZip's suggested test is straightforward: when exploring the demo, ask 'Can I understand why the party failed?' and 'Can I see the consequences of changing a rule?' Those questions may help determine whether the game fits your tastes. This is editorial commentary based on the official descriptions, not a hands-on review.
The free offering is the Steam demo.[14] The announcement says more information will follow, so it should not be read as confirmation of a specific full-game release date or price.[7] We make no separate claim here about Korean-language support or console availability. Dungeon Automata is an external developer's game, not a GamZip-made web game playable directly on this site.
